Kitchens, Bathrooms & Sanctuary Living
I recently had the pleasure of speaking with Chelsie Butler of Kitchen & Bath Business on their podcast From The Tap. We explored one of my favorite subjects: how design can do far more than elevate a space; it can shape how we live, feel, and heal. In other words, we talked about sanctuary.
In our conversation, we focused especially on kitchens and bathrooms, two of the most utilized and impactful rooms in any home. These are the spaces that quietly support our daily rhythms: the bathroom that helps us unwind from a long day or prepares us for a new one. And the kitchen that becomes the heart of the home: a place where families gather, meals are readied, and our bodies and spirits are refueled. When we design these spaces with intention and infuse them with the principles of sanctuary, they become more than functional rooms: they become deeply supportive environments that meet us where we are and help us become our best selves.
Opportunities to discuss how sanctuary works fill me with immense gratitude. I’ve been sharing the message of sanctuary for many years, and it’s incredibly encouraging to see how strongly it resonates. The rapid growth of the wellness industry only reinforces what I hear from clients and communities every day: people are craving new ways to unwind, to reconnect with themselves, and to find peace and grounding within the spaces they inhabit.
I’m excited to continue sharing more conversations, interviews, and reflections with you in the months ahead. Sanctuary has always been bigger than me: it’s a movement toward a more intentional, nourishing way of living.
In the meantime, you can listen to the episode here. I’d love to hear what you think.
With Love and Gratitude,
Lisa
